Got here when there was only about 40-45 min left but it was still is kool experience for a Friday night. We tried the sampler flat & liked about 3 out of the 4 of them (don't remember all the names except for 2 which were apple & dakota my personal favs) the service was also good & friendly from the host.
So I was looking for something different to do. Me and 3 other friends went on Friday night. The place has very nice ambiance. You can get the Flight which will give you 4 different samples. You can then order a full glass of what you like. You can start a tab and settle up at the end. You can sign up for future perks. Will be going again.
What a cool spot tucked away behind Millburn Mall. It's a speak easy, and not too far from where I grew up. I had no idea what mead was before we walked in, the staff was great at educating me and I loved that it's essentially honey beer that's sparkling! Really cool space, and the sampler was great try the jalapeño, raspberry, and barrel aged meads! Besides being shocked about the location, I was shocked at how empty this place was on a Friday evening. Hopefully more people discover this gem since it was really cool!
Such an cute & tucked away meadery! My friend saw a Groupon so we decided to make the trip. To get to the location IS confusing - if you park in the main parking lot with all the other stores, all the way on the side next to the nail salon, there will be a door. GO THROUGH the door & make a right. Then you'll find another inconspicuous looking door that'll end up being the meadery. If you do call, they're super sweet & will guide you as well. (I have pictures added below to show just how to get there though). The staff member was also super sweet - explained what the Groupon entailed, what honey mead is, the process of picking out the flavors you want. Every flavor has a distinct taste which was a pleasant surprise! Favorites were the mango one & the "disaster one" (which tasted like apple whiskey honestly). This spot also has indoor/outdoor seating - so I think it's an awesome (almost) all year spot. It's also bring your own food! Which is a great thing. Overall, if you're able to visit I highly recommend! They also sell some of their mead products & I bought a bottle. Everything is fairly priced so definitely recommend!
Great, great time!!! I can't believe it's been here for years but today was the first visit. The woman who works there was incredibly helpful! Every cider is unique. I loved a couple more than others but that's a matter of taste. Read the descriptions and choose what you like. You won't be disappointed! P.S. You can bring your own food
In a plaza with plenty of parking but the actual entrance is hard to find at first. I would recommend them placing a sign to better direct people to find the main entrance. I purchased a Groupon voucher - very affordable. The voucher was good for 2 glasses of Meade ( valued at ~$7 each ) we purchased an additional flight (valued at $15 to try 4 additional mead) all in all it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They do not serve food here but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.
I've stopped in this place before to pick up a bottle of wine. I've always told my bestie that I wanted us to sit in and try their wines over some takeout. The place doesn't serve food. They only serve wine, drafts and they have a slushy machine for blood Orange slushees but they allow you to bring in food from outside. We decided not to this time We both ordered the Flight Sampler for $15 each. We got to choose our selection of wines. The wines that were less strong were filled to the rim but the stronger wines were filled only partially in the glass. I chose the Boku, the Derama, One Hunnit, and Vanilla Jack. My taste buds LOVED all of them except the vanilla Jack which I honestly thought was just okay; but my guest...she loved them all and while we didn't get all the same flavors, we did both get the Boku and the Vanilla Jack. She also had a slush and she loved that as well. We had such a nice time laughing and talking but the people next to us brought some kind of box game similar to a board game. We both thought that was a great idea and figured we may bring a game next time. We stayed for about an hour and a half without any hassle from the staff. I ended up taking home a full bottle of Boku for $25 since I loved it so much. The service was good, the wine was delicious and the prices I found to be quite reasonable. Will definitely return.
Great find and excellent place! Service was very friendly. The drinks are pricy but definitely worth it. They have a rotating special depending on what's available so I will definitely be back. The area itself if a more urban area so this is a nice addition to it. I highly recommend this place for a chill afternoon drink or just to check it out at least once.
Delicious handcrafted mead in NJ! Hidden gem. They have plenty of selections varying in sweetness. They also have mead on tap that changes every week. A bit on the pricey side, but I think mead in general is pricey. The location is hard to find - It's all the way in the back of a shopping plaza. It's almost like a speakeasy, you'd never expect it based on the look of the plaza. Vibes inside were very artsy and hip. Due to COVID, reservations need to be made ahead of time. Tables are cleaned after each party uses it. Very well-organized!
All I can say is WOW what a find! I had seen the page pop up on my Facebook and so I was curious and clicked on their page . I was intrigued by all their flavors of mead. Now, I'm not a fan of mead and don't drink much anymore but the flavors were calling to me so my boyfriend decided to take me after I sent him nonstop posts about them ! It is a little hard to find because either is behind a strip mall but once you locate it it's worth it! The place inside is very nice. Stark and clean very tastefully decorated. I will forewarn , it isn't cheap but I've heard mead usually is pricey and THIS one is well worth the price! We had two flights and then we ordered two more small pours after that. All I can say is Coquito flavored mead?! Ummmm yes please! It was great to enjoy that flavor without the diary ! Another favorite was the Santa's vacay, the Bavarian blueberry (picture a taste of blueberry and cream) and the blackberry down were just some of our faves. We HAD to get a bottle of the Baklava one as well to enjoy at home! They have won many medals and I can certainly see why. This is clearly somewhere we will visit often! Great little place!!
